Invitation to the event are supposed to be emailed on October 10.
The source of this information is, reportedly, an Apple investor who has heard the dates from “multiple sources” and shared them with Fortune.
Previous iPad Mini mock up leaks have shown us an aluminum 7.85-inch slate, using the recently introduced smaller Lightning connector.
The iPad Mini is also expected to be less expensive than the current iPad, putting it against tablet’s such as the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire in the marketplace.
Traditionally secretive about it products, Apple has not acknowledged plans to create a smaller version of the iPad — nor has it officially indicated plans to have an event of any kind in October.

Just one day before Apple’s big press event, pictures of an iPad mini model have hit the web.
Although these images are just mockups of what we could see in the future, it gives us a good look at how the iPad mini could stack up in size against the iPad and iPhone.
