Sleep Time – Alarm Clock: Waking you up at the right time so you’ll feel refreshed.

Having enough sleep is very important. With enough sleep, we feel refreshed to do our tasks for the day. Sleep also helps boost the immune system and keeps the mind sharp. But, with jobs and deadlines to meet, we often neglect getting enough sleep. The invention of alarm clocks even make matters worse. Alarm clocks may allow us to wake up at the right time but disrupts our sleep cycle, making us groggy during the day.
Devs at Azumio saw both the importance of sleep and waking up at the right time. That is why they have created an app that will help you wake up at the lightest sleep cycle possible, preventing you from breaking your sleep cycle.
The Sleep Time – Alarm Clock allows you to wake up every morning feeling fresh. Using your phone’s accelerometer and a unique algorithm, this app monitors your sleep cycle and wakes you up without that groggy felling.
On the app’s main screen, you will find 3 tabs: Alarm, Sleep Lab, and Settings.
The Alarm tab lets you adjust and set the time for the alarm. Here, you will find a big round wall clock. You can set the time for the alarm by tapping Set and moving it around the clock, adjacent to the time you want your alarm to go off. After you have set the alarm, click the Startbutton at the bottom to launch the alarm.

A reminder will appear on the screen, instructing you to place your phone on the bed face down. You need to place the phone nearest to your body, and also make sure your phone has enough power before you doze off. If you sleep with someone else on the same bed, you can place your phone on the side where it can’t detect your partner’s movement during your sleep.
Tap Done and place your phone on your bed. You can also tick the option to remove the reminders every time you start the alarm. Your phone will automatically turn the screen off.
Your alarm time will vary depending on your Wake up phase. The default Wake up phase is set to 30 minutes. If you set the alarm to 7:00 AM, your alarm will activate between 6:30 and 7:00 AM. This 30-minute range will allow the app to analyze and ring the alarm when you are at your lightest sleep cycle. You can adjust the length of the Wake up phase by going to the Settings tab.

The Sleep Lab tab is where the app records and saves your sleep cycle pattern. Using the phone’s accelerometer and advanced algorithms, the app can detect your movements during your sleep and determines your sleep cycle. Here on this tab, you will find specific details about your sleep. You can find your bed time, the duration of your sleep, and its efficiency. In the screenshot above, for example, I only had about 5 hours of sleep last night. I could have slept earlier to increase the number of hours and the efficiency of my sleep.
Your sleep cycle is also presented on a bar graph where the X-axis represents the depth of sleep and the Y-axis the hours of the day. Data are also color-coded so you can clearly see the different phases of your sleep. You can add a note for your last night’s reading or share your result with someone directly from within the app.
Other data include sleep phases in percentage, rise time, alarm ring, alarm set, and snoozed.

The Settings tab lets you customize and adjust the performance of the app. You can change and adjust the alarm volume and alarm type. The app includes 20 alarm tones to choose from. You can also adjust the Wake up phase to 10, 20, or 30 minutes. You can even use the app as a normal alarm clock by choosing the 0 minutes Wake up phase.
Being a free app, I’m surprised that I didn’t find any ad in it. I’m not quite sure yet if this app will permanently stay ad-free. The app is also missing some features such as the Advanced Settings in the Settings tab which can be found in its iPhone version.
What are your thoughts about using the Sleep Time – Alarm Clock to replace your ordinary alarm clocks? Are you feeling more refreshed during the day by using this app?
