Angry Birds Star Wars announced, coming to iOS and Android on November 8

It looks like Rovio hasn't devoted all of its time to developing Bad Piggies (check our Bad Piggies Review here!), as the latest Angry Birds game is right around the corner. 

Rovio has been teasing the new title for some time now and has finally come clean, releasing a teaser video announcing the release date. While no specific details about the game are available, this latest Angry Birds title will likely combine elements from the first Angry Birds games and Angry Birds Space. While the birds will look like heroes from Star Wars, the pigs will take the role of the evil Sith and the imperial forces. Their defensive constructions will likely resemble famous buildings and vehicles from the Star Wars universe.

Whether Rovio has added some fresh elements to the gameplay of Angry Birds Star Wars, we'll know on November 8. Until then, may the birds be with you!

Rovio Unveils Bad Piggies (Angry Birds Sequel) Gameplay [Video]

Rovio has planned to launch Angry Birds sequel Bad Piggies very soon, but you can get a peek at the fun right now.  Bad Piggies turns the original franchise upside down, letting fans play as the pigs.

But don’t expect to be protecting the piggies from flying fowl. In fact, there won’t be a slingshot in sight as players set out to create crazy vehicles on a mission to seal those yummy eggs and earn three stars in each level.

The trailer promised millions of possible vehicle combinations letting players unleash their creativity to make pigs fly through the air and ride through loopdey-loops.

“Bad Piggies will give you a chance to finally see the pig picture and take the role of the infamous green antagonists,” Rovio said in the trailer’s description.

The game is actually a lot more like Rovio’s recently acquired physics-based puzzler Amazing Alex than Angry Birds. Amazing Alex challenges players to manipulate various items such as slingshots, ropes, balloons, and punching gloves to collect the three stars each level.

Rovio will release Bad Piggies on Sept. 27 for iOS, Android, and Mac devices with versions for Windows Phone, Windows 8, and PC versions following shortly thereafter.
