Is this the wireless charging pad for the LG Nexus 4?

That the LG Nexus 4 will offer wireless charging is not what one would call a secret. Evidence found in the device's FCC filing reveals that inside it lies the hardware necessary to support the feature. And for a few weeks now, word on the street has been claiming that charging the smartphone wirelessly will indeed be an option.

Seems at least kind of legit, doesn't it?

The highly-anticipated smartphone is expected to be announced officially on November 29 – next Monday

Samsung Nexus 10 tablet's user manual pops up online, suggests how it could look

Today a couple of images have popped up, allegedly of the User Manual of the Nexus 10 tablet which shows us how the tablet could look on arrival.

The design of the tablet is quite different from the Nexus 7, the sides of the device in landscape orientation appear to have a slight curve. The placement of the volume rockers and other components line up with that of the Galaxy Note 10.1.

The manual also suggests that there will be a rear facing camera with flash and a front facing camera too. We can see the usual ports on all sides of the Nexus 10 and there is one interesting LED at the front-bottom of the Nexus 10 which we do not know the use of, yet.

Apple Announces iPad Mini, Refreshed Fourth Generation iPad

Apple Announces iPad Mini, Refreshed Fourth Generation iPad:_

Apple unveiled a smaller version of the iPad as well as an updated fourth generation iPad

during a media event at the California Theatre in San Jose today. Officially known as the iPad

mini, it’s much more than just a shrunken-down iPad according to Apple.

The 7.9-inch display maintains the same 1,024 x 768 resolution found on the iPad 2 which

means apps won’t need to be refreshed to scale on the iPad mini. The unit itself is 7.2mm

thick, or roughly a quarter inch thinner than the fourth generation iPad, and weighs 0.68 pounds.

It’s small enough to be held in one hand, as Apple’s Phil Schiller demonstrated during the

announcement.

Specification-wise, the iPad mini packs a dual-core A5 processor, dual-band

802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, a FaceTime HD camera, 5-megapixel rear iSight camera with 1080p

recording and an optional LTE radio. Apple’s new Lightning connector comes standard

alongside claims of 10 hour battery life.

Apple is clearly targeting Google’s Nexus 7 and other 7-inch slates with the iPad mini. Schiller

made sure to highlight the fact that the Nexus has a thicker plastic bezel and a smaller display

area. He even went as far as to say that you get a tablet experience on the iPad mini but you

only get a scaled-up phone experience on the Nexus.

The iPad mini will be available in white and black with the same curved back as the iPod touch

– the black featuring the same type of anodized aluminum found on the iPhone 5. Pricing starts

at $329 for a 16GB Wi-Fi only model, $429 for a 32Gb model or $519 for 64GB of storage.

Add $130 to each tier for LTE connectivity.

The iPad mini will be available for pre-order on October 26 (that’s probably not a coincidence).

Wi-Fi models will ship on November 2 with cellular-enabled units hitting stores two weeks later.

Apple also announced an updated full-size iPad simply referred to as the fourth generation

iPad. This new iPad includes a beefier A6X processor for double the CPU and graphics

performance, a new FaceTime camera that supports 720p resolution, the new Lightning

connector, 802.11a/b/g/n dual-band Wi-Fi and the same image signal processor found in the

iPhone 5. Pricing remains the same as the third generation iPad which starts at $499 for a

16GB Wi-Fi model.

LG Nexus 4 appears along with specs, this time from evleaks.

Another image of LG Nexus 4 appears along with specs, this time from evleaks.

The upcoming and much-rumoured LG Nexus 4 has leaked quite a many times and there is almost nothing that we don’t know about the smartphone.
And now, Twitter user @evleaks has posted an image of the smartphone which looks like the final design of the phone.

Going by the track record of @evleaks, we hardly doubt this leak as almost all the information provided by the user starting with the Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 leaks have been spot on.

And along with the image, @evleaks has also posted the specifications of the LG Nexus 4 which is currently expected to arrive with:

Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini spotted in retail listing.

When it comes to smartphone screen size, there seems to be a few different camps. Some of us belong to the “bigger is better” faction, others believe the sweetspot is somewhere between 4.1-inches and a 4.9-inches. Then there are those that want 4-inch and smaller designs.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 has great hardware and a sexy design, but it might be a little too big for some users out there. The solution seems to be at hand with various rumors claiming that a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini is on its way. Now a Nordic retailer has even revealed that it will be selling the alleged Mini smartphone for a little over $500.
The retailer doesn’t give us official pictures or any solid leads on the specs, but it does seem to suggest that the phone won’t feature NFC in the base version. We still don’t know much for sure, but rumors claim it will have a WVGA display, a 5MP camera, a dual-core processor and the power of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean aboard.
A smaller Samsung Galaxy S3 could certainly put Samsung in an even better position to compete with the Apple iPhone. Many iPhone users tend to take issue with the larger screen size found in many Android devices, so this device could be perfect for iPhone users that are considering making the switch.

Angry Birds Star Wars announced, coming to iOS and Android on November 8

It looks like Rovio hasn't devoted all of its time to developing Bad Piggies (check our Bad Piggies Review here!), as the latest Angry Birds game is right around the corner.

Rovio has been teasing the new title for some time now and has finally come clean, releasing a teaser video announcing the release date. While no specific details about the game are available, this latest Angry Birds title will likely combine elements from the first Angry Birds games and Angry Birds Space. While the birds will look like heroes from Star Wars, the pigs will take the role of the evil Sith and the imperial forces. Their defensive constructions will likely resemble famous buildings and vehicles from the Star Wars universe.

Whether Rovio has added some fresh elements to the gameplay of Angry Birds Star Wars, we'll know on November 8. Until then, may the birds be with you!

LATEST: Apple has ordered 10 million iPad Minis from suppliers this quarter: WSJ

Though the existence of the 7.85 inch tablet from Apple is still under doubt, WSJ is saying that Apple has placed an order with its suppliers for more than 10 million units for the fourth quarter.

Earlier it was rumoured that the production of the iPad Mini has already started and would be out soon.

The iPad Mini has been the talk of the town since many months now but except for the iPad Mini cases or a dummy which is easily available in China, nothing concrete has leaked out yet.

The over 10 million units of iPad Mini are indeed a huge number which is almost double of that Amazon ordered for its Kindle Fire. There have been speculations that the iPad Mini production was hitting a low as there were some manufacturing issues.

In the last quarter, Apple sold 17 million iPad and with the Mini version the numbers for the fourth quarter are sure to skyrocket. It was also rumoured that Apple will be sending out invites for the iPad Mini launch event on October 10 so that gives us 2 more days until we find out more from Apple.

Sony Xperia TX launches in Hong Kong.

Sony has released the Asian variant of its international flagship, the Xperia TX, starting in Hong Kong. The Xperia TX, which we saw for the first time at IFA 2012 in Berlin, is almost identical to its more worldly sibling, the Xperia T. The main differences in the TX include the lack of a microSD card slot, a slightly thinner, lighter chassis and a smaller battery (1750mAh versus 1850). Besides that, it's the same 4.6-inch IPS HD Reality Display, same ICS-based Sony interface, and same Snapdragon S4 dual-core CPU.
Hong Kong buyers looking to pick up an Xperia TX will find it for sale for HK$4,698 (£375, €465, $606), according to XperiaBlog. As the Xperia T and TX are very similar handsets, Sony says it doesn't plan on releasing both in the same market.

iPhone 5: 5 reasons why it'll be a disappointment

1 Design looks to be largely unchanged
Leaked snaps indicate that although the next iPhone is going to be taller and thinner, its look and feel will remain largely unchanged from the iPhone 4S. Which you'll not need reminding itself retained the design of the iPhone 4, a phone that’s now over two years old. That's aeons in smartphone years.

In that time, Android phones have introduced whopping screens that blur the line between tablets and smartphones and have debuted innovative pebble-shaped form factors. But with those kind of sea changes abroad on phones running Google's OS, Apple's design department seems to have stood still.
If the snaps we’ve seen so far tell the whole truth and there really is no tangible sense of progression from design doyen Jonathan Ive this time around, you’ll be able to see the sense of disappointment from space.
2 Apple could once again fail to manage expectations
The iPhone 4S left many tech fans crestfallen partly because Apple allowed the hype whirlwind around the phone to blow up to Katrina proportions. That was in contrast to the iPad 2.
When a slew of rumours appeared suggesting the second-gen tablet would have a high density retina screen, Apple got in touch with select tech sites and leaked info to put them right about it. The result? Punters adjusted their expectations accordingly were grateful for what they got, not what they didn't.

That could mean that it really is going to be all we've been led to believe and that the quad-core processor, 4G support and the kitchen sink are present and correct. Or it could mean that Apple hasn't learned its lesson and is allowing the rumour mill to stir up expectations that the phone won't fulfil.
If it's the latter, it's the kind of PR mistake that might not hurt sales in the short term but could do real damage to the company's reputation in the long run.
3 'Steve Jobs' last device' chatter is raising stakes
Within weeks of the death of Steve Jobs and with his Princess Diana-style beatification and canonisation as one of modern life's few geniuses already underway, leaks emerged from Cupertinoclaiming that the iPhone 5 is the last iDevice on which the Apple founder was closely involved in its development.

Whether Jobs merits his exalted position is a moot point. But one thing is for sure. And that's that the billing the handset is being given means it has already acquired a kind of legendary status. That means it'll have to change the game if it's not to be seen as anything other than an anti-climax.
4 Four-inch screen feels superannuated
At the Galaxy S3 launch a few months back, the uSwitch Tech team of scribes laid out their handsets next to Sammy’s new wonder kit in the interests of comparison.
Stacking up against the S3 that day was an HTC Sensation, a Galaxy S2 and an iPhone 4S. And it won’t surprise you that it was the iPhone 4S, with its comparatively pokey 3.5-inch screen and over-familiar design, that felt and looked the most old-fashioned.

The apparent decision to boost screen real estate to four inches with the iPhone 4S is welcome. But we’d still have liked to see even more space given over to the display. And we think the combined sales of 15m units of the Galaxy S3 and Note, which rock 4.8 and 5.3-inch panels respectively, suggest the public would like more screen to play with too.
5 Points docked for incompatibility
Apple is about to ditch the 30-pin connector that’s been a fixture of the iPhone from year one in favour a new 19-pin port. Or at least that’s the rumour.

If so, it’s a seismic change. And given that the port has been present in every iPhone iteration so far, it’s arguably the most radical change the sixth-generation phone will bring with it.
