Rumor: LG Optimus Nexus might feature the same specs as the LG Optimus G?

Google has decided to take a slightly more hands-on approach when it comes to their market-leading Android mobile operating system, with the Nexus lineup of devices will be the first receive any software updates directly from Google. Even though that particular lineup is somewhat sparse at the moment, that is also going to change very soon, with almost every major manufacturer including Samsung, LG, and Sony planning to release Nexus devices this year.
LG has kind of taken a back seat this year, mostly because of all the hype surrounding the release of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2, but has some great Android devices on offer, such as the LG Optimus 4X HD and the recently launched Optimus G, with the latter actually being the absolute pinnacle of smartphone technology. With the fastest processor, high-resolution display, 13MP primary camera, 2GB RAM and a large 2,100 mAH battery, it actually doesn’t get much better than the  the LG Optimus G.

  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • Quad-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro Processor
  • 4.7” IPS LCD capacitive multi-touch display
  • High resolution of 1280 X 768 pixels
  • 13 MP rear camera with LED Flash, 1.3 MP front-facing camera
  • 2 GB RAM, 32 GB Internal memory
  • Supports LTA, Wi-Fi, 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0
  • Lithium Ion 2100 mAh battery

With its sleek design amazing hardware, and a vanilla Android OS on-board, the LG Optimus Nexus will definitely stand strong in the over-crowded Android smartphone market. While it certainly makes sense that LG will need to bring its best to compete against the likes of Samsung, I’m not sure whether LG will release two devices with the exact same specifications. But, with the touch ofGoogle, the interest for an LG device might shoot up among smartphone users, and really help the company establish itself.
