Google turns 14!

Google turns 14! To all the maps, androids, gmails, you tube,

picasas, docs, drive, chromes, latitudes and so much more –

Cheers for making our lives easier! Happy birthday.

This doodle shall be up in the GOOGLE homepage
throughout the day. Google is popular and well known when
it comes to doodles. The doodles are designed based on
events ranging from news events, civic milestones,
birthdays, death anniversaries and important dates in
history. The recent ones of its hot stuff were the Olympic
doodles which lets user to play their own animated Olympic
game.

It was in the year 1998 when two Stanford university
students, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, got together to form
this company which has now become an integrated part of
our daily lives. Interestingly, the story behind ‘how it all
began’ was as simple as a Library Management Project at
Stanford.

Google History

Google began in March 1996 as a research project by Larry
Page and Sergey Brin, Ph.D. students at Stanford working
on the Stanford Digital Library Project (SDLP). The SDLP’s
goal was “to develop the enabling technologies for a single,
